Dire & Fare nel nord est"

The thermal combustion plant of Nuova Romano Bolzicco S.p.A. won the "Oscar for Innovation" on March 31st 2001 at the 1st "Dire&Fare nel Nord Est" Fair in Venice, present Minister Bassanini. More than 300 projects applied to the competition – organized by Anciveneto ad Anci SA S.r.l. The award was given to the ten most innovative, efficacious, and fanciful projects carried out by institutions and companies of the three Italian regions: Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Marino Massaro, journalist on "Sole 24 Ore", chaired the jury.

Nuova Romano Bolzicco S.p.A. was born from the decision of the Crabo Group to finance a new and ambitious project, which was carried out through a close co-operation with the Faculty of Engineering of Udine University: the construction of a thermodestruction plant for industrial waste of wood industry, with the main aim to obtain electrical and thermal energy.
The  wood scraps and waste, which cannot be better exploited by the Chenna technology, instead of being addressed to the rubbish dumps, become raw material for the combustion process of the plant.
Nuova Romano Bolzicco S.p.A. is able to bum each year about 20.000 t of industrial waste and can produce 11.038 Mwh/year of electric power.
The emissions that the combustion process sets free, fall within the range imposed by the law in force and are subjected to a continual and accurate control.
In fact, the purification systems of the plant have been projected in order to guarantee the highest level of safety and entrustment.
But the potentiality of this industrial complex goes much further than numbers; in fact it can aid in giving a solution to many environmental problems linked to the wood working: the thermal potential produced by the plant can feed, for instance, the tunnels for wood drying process allowing, in this way, a saving of traditional energetic resources.
